As the most prestigious event in Gliding the World Gliding Championships (WGC) will bring 130 of the best glider pilots from twenty five countries to Uvalde Texas for twelve days starting today with the first practice day.
What is your favorite pilot? The Swiss team for sure.
But then, I have a close eye on Peter Harvey of the GB team, because he will race in a very specific sailplane: Antares Nr. 1 with the race sign LA. He flies it in a 23m configuration. Who knows where this plane will show up next? Peter has won the WGC in 2005 and 2007.
For Switzerland, there is Werner Danz in an Antares 18S OX and Rolf Friedly in an ASG-29-18 LX.
Let the best pilot win!!!
